Blog Article: Psychologist's Impact on Society

The world is full of mysteries, and humans strive to find the truth behind our everyday lives. Psychologists act directly on the human mind, a very complex concept that nobody will ever fully understand. As I go through each day, I realize how much the brain affects what we do. The mental and emotional state of a human being is important for a healthy life. Psychologists try their best to ensure the health of the society by helping those who are mentally and emotionally instable.

As I walk through town, I see multiple posters on the wall, advertising and promoting a new charity program for the mentally disabled. People with mental illnesses have to live through a life with a handicap that they can’t get rid of. Depression, anxiety issues, schizophrenia, and many other illnesses dominate the patient’s life. It is a psychologist’s job to stay by the patient’s side and help him/her overcome their problems through encouraging words.

Mental and emotional illnesses are probably not the first things that come to your mind when you think of life threatening diseases. However, depression is the number one cause for suicide, and several people had died from incurable problems in their brain and heart. Although it might not seem as important, psychologists are actually vital in a society and can change the lives of several people.
